  • Night Shift Supervisor
     
  • Day Shift Supervisor

Glenbrook Cinema is currently seeking two permanent part time supervisors, one Day Shift Supervisor and one Night Shift Supervisor.

The experienced and mature individuals will possess high level organisation and customer service skills possessing the ability to impart skills onto peers and subordinates ensuring efficient day-to-day cinema operations.

These positions require individuals who can work well in a fast paced, high pressure environment, (especially around session start times), with the ability to think on your feet and solve both technical and customer service issues.

As shift supervisor you will be required to perform all cinema duties.

A major component of the role is the regular cleaning of the auditorium, foyer and bathrooms, involving taking out the rubbish, vacuuming, sanitising and washing floors to ensure the cinema’s high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

Shift supervisors must be fully proficient in computer and keyboard skills. Under the direction of managers, you will be required to perform simple start-up and shut-down projection duties, and learn basic troubleshooting skills, to ensure the fully programmed automated digital projection system is operational.

Working alongside fellow supervisors and managers, as a team leader, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve operating procedures and provide excellence in customer service.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Supervisory experience
  • Administration experience
  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience
  • Money handling skills/knowledge
  • RSA Certificate (or ability to obtain quickly via online training)
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible if needed
  • Enthusiasm for movies and quality cinema

Desirable Skills and Experience (but not essential)

  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Stock counting and ordering experience
  • Previous business management experience
  • Training in digital cinema
  • Training in event ticketing systems
  • Food Health & Safety qualifications
  • Applied First Aid Certificate
  • Occupational Health & Safety qualifications

Work Hours

  • Day Shift Supervisor
    • Standard Hours per Week = 26 hours per week
    • Standard Work Days:
      • Sunday
      • Wednesday
      • Thursday
      • Friday
    • Hours per shift = 6.5
    • Additional Paid Hours (Mondays in School Holiday periods)
    • Glenbrook Cinema is a small family-run business serving our local community. Salary is in line with the Australian Government Broadcasting, Recorded Entertainment and Cinemas Award [MA000091] for Cinema Worker - Level 4 - Full-Time & Part-Time

 

  • Night Shift Supervisor
    • Standard Hours per Week = 26 hours per week
    • Standard Work Days:
      • Sunday
      • Tuesday
      • Wednesday
      • Thursday
    • Hours per shift = 6.5
    • Additional Paid Hours (Mondays in School Holiday periods)

  • Flexibility Notes:
    • This role is to assist cinema managers in covering shifts for the extensive 7 days per week cinema operating hours.
    • The number of work hours in a shift will generally be fixed, however the actual shift start time and finish time will vary to accommodate the variation in lengths of movies. This means you may start later and finish later, or you may start earlier and finish earlier on some days.
    • On occasion there may be a need to swap shifts or work additional paid hours to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, annual leave, pressing social commitments, and during busy school holiday periods.
